As the former chairman of that committee, Bruce advised the board of directors on planned gifts and helped create programs which extend the good will that Catholic Charities-Maryland has in our community.

Supporting Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation

Bruce Palmieri's team, along with Northwestern Mutual is committed to fighting childhood cancer by both raising money to help accelerate research and improve treatments through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.  Recently, Bruce worked in a neighborhood Lemonade Stand to support the cause.

Black-Eyed Susan Day

In May, Bruce Palmieri and Northwestern Mutual hosted a small, private Sky Suite event at Black-Eyed Susan Day. The Maryland tradition of Black-Eyed Susan Day is a significant precursor to the annual Preakness Stakes festivities, and the Black-Eyed Susan itself is one of Pimlico Race Course's oldest stakes races. Northwestern Mutual sponsored the third race of the day - the 23rd running of Skipat Stakes - and Bruce, along with a few others, had the honor of participating in the Winners Circle presentation circle.

Our guests enjoyed great food and beverages throughout the day and had an amazing view of the races. They also had a chance to tour the stables and meet the horses first-hand.

In another Preakness/Black-Eyed Susan Day event, our invited guests attended the annual Horseman's Party followed by the Kenny Chesney concert the evening before Black-Eyed Susan Day.
